Founded in 1125, the abbey is one of the oldest constructions of the order of the Prémontré.

Over the centuries the abbey has been destroyed, rebuilt, and modified. It was even turn into a private castle after the French Revolution.

After the bombings of the First World War, the building was abandoned for years.

Today, thanks to the commitment of passionate volunteers, the abbey is being carefully restored. Come and discover sculptures and architectural elements of great archaeological interest. You will admire the chapter house and its polychromies in which volunteer workers would like to create a cultural centre with a stonemasonry museum and stone-carving  activities.
